Senior Database Administrator (DBA)

Responsibilities:
- contribute to the design, development and implementation of database standards, framework and common services
- perform database administration, performance tuning/monitoring, troubleshooting and design optimization
- provide database technology consultancy and assistance to development teams; assist development teams in adopting standards and framework
- adopt and develop enterprise-wide database management best practices and methodology
- lead the design to automate database operations for enhancing Operational Efficiency
- plan and implement Technology Refreshment to ensure healthiness of database systems for sustaining business continuity
- perform database technology selections and architecture designs

Requirements:
- a degree in Computer Science / Engineering or related discipline
- 8+ years of solid experience in database administration/ engineering, ideally working in Technical Support or Infrastructure Team
- strong SQL, troubleshooting and tuning skills in Oracle, Sybase, SQL Server or others
- exposure to large scale OLTP database development projects will be an advantage
- good knowledge of LINUX and relational modelling skill is preferable
- working knowledge of Windows, SAN, Enterprise monitoring/scheduling tools, Clusters, Virtualization and middleware
- working knowledge of various programming languages especially shell scripting, Java, C, C++, XML, XLST, XSD
- ability to troubleshoot system problems, explain technical issues to management, users and vendors
